External Wholesaler
Role Overview:
CION Investments is seeking a dynamic External Wholesaler to join our growing distribution team and lead our efforts in Southern California (Los Angeles or San Diego preferred). This role is responsible for driving new sales, deepening existing relationships, and raising capital through broker-dealer and independent advisor channels. As an external wholesaler, you will represent our suite of institutional alternative investment strategies, including our flagship CION Ares Diversified Credit Fund (CADC) and the CION Grosvenor Infrastructure Fund (CGIF).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a territory business plan to grow sales and raise new capital
- Cultivate and manage relationships with broker-dealers and independent advisors
- Conduct in-person meetings, presentations, and events to drive product adoption and sales
- Partner with internal wholesalers to maximize territory coverage and sales effectiveness
- Deliver market insights, product updates, and portfolio positioning to advisors
- Maintain competitive intelligence and stay current on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor product
- Consistently meet or exceed territory sales and asset-raising goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Proven track record in external wholesaling, ideally within alternative investments or financial services
- Demonstrated ability to raise $50–100M+ annually
- Established relationships in the broker-dealer and independent advisor channels preferred
- Strong presentation, relationship management, and closing skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- SIE, Series 7 & 63 (or equivalent) required. Previously held series 7 and 63 licenses that are inactive will be considered, provided that all required exams are retaken and passed within three months of being hired
