Internal Wholesaler
Role Overview:
The Internal Wholesaler is a sales professional who performs as part of a team, including working with external sales professionals and other internal sales partners. It is the Internal Wholesaler's responsibility to provide sales support to existing clients and drive sales by maintaining and strengthening relationships with clients. This position is a full-time onsite opportunity in our New York City Office.
As part of the growing distribution team, you will be responsible for representing our platform of institutional alternative investment strategies, including our flagship Ares Diversified Credit Fund (CADC) and the Grosvenor Infrastructure Fund (CGIF), a private markets infrastructure strategy developed in partnership with GCM Grosvenor, one of the world’s leading alternative asset managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sales support and service by initiating outbound phone calls to existing broker dealers – providing market updates and cross-selling firm products and services
Follow up with clients after wholesaler visits to provide additional information, collect feedback on the meeting, and inquire about additional product needs
Coordinate planning of meetings, seminars, and conference calls involving clients, DPC reps, affiliate PMs, and others within the organization
Assist financial advisors in growing their business by providing hypothetical analysis, updating them on current marketing materials, and informing them of upcoming events
Maintain meaningful competitive intelligence by attending meetings and training, engaging with other internal departments and product teams, and staying current on news and industry media
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Proven experience in the financial services industry
Minimum 1 year of experience in financial sales or wholesaling
Excellent social skills and ability to influence others
Proven ability to easily build and maintain relationships
Strong desire to learn and develop professionally
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively
Interest in financial services and markets
Strong presentation and communication skills
SIE, Series 7 & 63 (or equivalent) required. Previously held but inactive licenses will be considered, provided all required exams are passed within three months of hire
