Behavioral Health Program Director
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Behavioral Health Program Director to lead and oversee clinical and operational functions of our behavioral health programs. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and program growth. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, a deep understanding of mental health and substance use treatment, and a passion for improving the lives of individuals and families in need.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction for all aspects of the behavioral health program, including clinical services, operations, and strategic planning
Supervise and support clinical and administrative staff, including therapists, case managers, and support personnel
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CARF)
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices that support program effectiveness and client outcomes
Collaborate with external partners, referral sources, and stakeholders to strengthen community relationships and program visibility
Monitor program performance through data analysis, client outcomes, and quality assurance measures
Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective operations
Drive continuous improvement efforts and identify opportunities for program growth and expansion
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (Doctorate preferred)
Licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of [Insert State]
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health settings, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
Strong knowledge of behavioral health regulations, treatment modalities, and clinical best practices
Excellent communication, organizational, and team leadership skills
Experience in budget management, strategic planning, and program development
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with integrated care models or telehealth delivery
Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment and co-occurring disorders
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
