We are currently seeking a new General Manager that is detailed and team driven to join our warehouse crew at our facility in Kansas City, MO.

We are looking for a proactive problem solver who enjoys working with facts and data. Someone who needs variety and change to keep from getting bored. They will become an expert in any subject matter they are working in. JOB PURPOSE:

Oversee management of all local branch departments including sales. Direct activities so that product and materials deliver on-schedule, within quality standards and cost objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist company officers and senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, programs and objectives.
  • Develop the branch operations plan and implement procedures for maintaining high standards of operation, including food safety policies and procedures, to ensure that products and materials conform to established customer and company quality standards.
  • Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals of the operations plan consistent with the established distribution and safety procedures.
  • Manage local sales force and hold accountable to the processes and procedures defined by sales management.
  • Full responsibility for branch P & L
  • Achieve optimum employee levels with the least amount of overhead and cost to annual budgetary plan; formulate and recommend distribution policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
  • Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff. Initiate corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy while communicating and involving the appropriate company personnel.
  • Communicate/collaborate effectively and professionally with co-workers and customers, both internal and external.
  • Responsible for supporting all established food safety practices at their designated branch locations
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Administration plus 10 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Provide prompt, courteous and excellent service to all customers, internal and external. Actively cooperate and interact with all entities of Loffredo Fresh Foods.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and rapidly growing distribution environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of the procurement system and basic knowledge of company products is required
  • Employee is occasionally required to stand, sit or walk for extended periods.
  • Must have excellent time management skills, planning and organizational skills, problem solving, and oral/written communication skills.
  • Must have basic persuasion and negotiation skills with the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • General math skills and computer skills required, and knowledge of industry specific application – Visual Produce – desired.
  • Frequent hearing and speaking. Close mental and visual attention.
  • Stress associated with work pace and pressure.
