Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our team as the Head of Sales within the distribution industry. As the Head of Sales, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and building strong customer relationships. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage the sales team, ensuring they achieve and exceed sales targets while adhering to company values and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities, competitive landscape, and potential areas for growth.

  2. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance their skills and performance. Foster a culture of collaboration, high performance, and continuous improvement within the sales department.

  3. Sales Performance: Monitor and assess sales team performance regularly, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress toward targets. Implement corrective actions when necessary to ensure sales goals are met or exceeded.

  4. Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention. Collaborate with the marketing and customer service teams to address customer needs effectively.

  5. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the company's customer base and market presence. Evaluate potential strategic alliances and acquisitions to support business growth.

  6. Sales Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve the sales processes, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with industry best practices. Implement tools and technologies to streamline sales operations.

  7. Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to senior management, highlighting sales performance, trends, and challenges. Utilize data insights to make informed decisions and identify areas for improvement.

  8. Budget Management: Collaborate with the finance department to establish and manage the sales budget effectively, optimizing resource allocation for maximum return on investment.

Requirements:

  1. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. Proven track record of successful sales leadership within the distribution industry, preferably with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

  2. Sales Expertise: In-depth understanding of sales strategies, methodologies, and best practices. Familiarity with the distribution industry, including market trends, competitors, and customer preferences.

  3. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing and inspiring high-performing sales teams.

  4. Analytical Thinking: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  5. Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with customers, team members, and stakeholders.

  6. Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans, setting clear objectives and goals.

  7. Results-Driven: A proven history of meeting and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.

  8. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry, adjusting strategies and tactics as needed.
