Position Overview:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day operational functions, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery, and driving strategic initiatives to support growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, preferably within the retail or service industry, and experience working with private equity-backed companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all operational activities, including the management of laundromat locations across multiple regions.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement operational strategies that support the company's growth objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Performance Management: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to monitor and improve efficiency, quality, and customer service.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to optimize operations, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the development and management of operational budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and objectives.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies, maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees and customers.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
  • Expansion Support: Support the company’s expansion efforts by overseeing the integration of new locations and ensuring a seamless transition into the operational framework.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in an operational leadership role, preferably within the retail or service industry.
  • Experience working with private equity-backed companies is highly desirable.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving operational improvements and achieving results.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on developing and empowering employees.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support operations across multiple regions.
