Position Overview:

The Chief Marketing Officer will oversee all marketing activities, leading the development of innovative and data-driven strategies to drive growth, enhance brand awareness, and increase customer loyalty. The CMO will be responsible for managing a high-performing marketing team and aligning marketing efforts with business goals, focusing on customer acquisition and retention through both digital and traditional channels. This role will work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to support rapid business growth and ensure consistent messaging across all markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Strategy Development: Create and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports the company's growth objectives, with a focus on customer acquisition, lead generation, and retention in the turf management space.
  • Brand Positioning & Management: Strengthen and refine the company’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms. Develop brand messaging that resonates with target audiences and communicates the company’s value proposition effectively.
  • Digital Marketing Leadership: Lead the digital marketing strategy, including SEO, SEM, PPC, social media, email marketing, and content marketing. Ensure the company’s digital presence is optimized for customer acquisition, engagement, and conversion.
  • Lead Generation & Conversion: Develop and oversee multi-channel campaigns aimed at driving high-quality leads and improving conversion rates. Continuously test and optimize marketing tactics to increase customer acquisition and reduce cost-per-lead.
  • Customer Retention & Loyalty: Design customer retention strategies, including loyalty programs, referral programs, and personalized marketing initiatives that drive repeat business and improve lifetime customer value.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and analytics to measure marketing performance, identify trends, and drive decisions. Provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer acquisition cost (CAC), return on marketing investment (ROMI), and overall marketing effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and collaboration. Encourage professional development and ensure the team is well-equipped to execute marketing strategies.
  • Partnerships & Sponsorships: Identify and manage strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and local community initiatives that align with the company’s brand and growth objectives. Leverage partnerships to enhance brand awareness and market presence.
  • Market Expansion: Collaborate with the operations and sales teams to support the company’s geographic expansion into new markets. Tailor marketing strategies for different regions while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Traditional Marketing & PR: Oversee traditional marketing efforts, including print advertising, direct mail campaigns, and public relations initiatives. Ensure a multi-channel approach to marketing that maximizes visibility and customer engagement.
  • Technology & Innovation: Evaluate and implement marketing technologies and tools (e.g., CRM, marketing automation platforms) to enhance marketing efficiency and improve data-driven decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure marketing campaigns are aligned with overall business goals and drive measurable results.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is required. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of marketing leadership experience, with a strong background in home services, turf management, landscaping, or a related industry.
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading and developing marketing teams, with a focus on driving performance, creativity, and innovation.
  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Strong knowledge of digital marketing strategies, including paid search, social media advertising, content marketing, and marketing automation.
  • Brand Management: Demonstrated success in building and managing a brand, particularly in a competitive, service-oriented industry.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and metrics to drive marketing decisions. Experience using analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, HubSpot, or similar tools.
  • Customer Acquisition & Retention: Experience in designing and implementing successful customer acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Multi-Channel Marketing: Proven track record in executing integrated marketing campaigns across digital, traditional, and grassroots channels.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, with a strong understanding of how to scale marketing efforts effectively.
